LUA 2022 Outdoor Collection by Alma Studio
The 2022 LUA Collection is defined by sophisticated industrial design with dramatic lines and undeniable comfort. Founded in 2022, Cedric created Alma studio (Alma means Soul in Portuguese), undeniably reflecting his background in automotive design and passion for beautiful furniture. With over 15 years of experience leading creative teams for automotive interiors and exteriors alongside the world’s biggest design teams, he’s launching his first furniture collection out of his new studio in Southern California, incorporating indoor/outdoor furniture and objects in a refined industrial style. This collection features a signature ionized nickel tubular frame and cushions that utilize recycled plastic bottles for material and filling.
This collection can be tailored for commercial settings or sent flat packed and easy to assemble for residential orders.
We are thrilled to continue to launch the LUA Collection and look forward to a bright future for Cedric and his studio.
Meet the designer
Portuguese, born and raised in Paris, Cedric immersed himself in the European culture and has been applying it to every creation since.
His creative journey started when he was about eight years old. His mother, a graphic designer at l'ENSCI in Paris then, would take him to work as a way to satiate his creative desires. "While she was busy, I remember walking up and down the hallways and peeking my head inside different classrooms to see what the students were learning. Over the years and through sheer curiosity, I was fortunate enough to participate in different activities such as model making, nude drawing, photography...probably making me the youngest, unofficial student attending their design school."
Driven by his early years in a creative environment, he then went on to study fine arts and learn traditional lathe techniques at l'Ecole Boulle in Paris, to later continue at Strate College Designers and specialize in Automotive design.
Cedric moved to Detroit in early 2012, where he spent a few years and now lives in Orange County, CA, with his wife and two children.
